Gafar Alabi,
Members of Al-Hayat Relief Foundation (ARF) have been cautioned against loan default, as it could negatively impact the financial stability of the foundation and limit other members’ access to loan facilities.
The Vice-President of the foundation, Abeokuta Zone, Alhaji Nurudeen Abdul Waheed, gave the warning during the 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the foundation held at the Abule-Oloni Branch Secretariat, Abeokuta. The meeting was themed: “My Own Waqf: From Theory to Practice.”
Alhaji Abdul Waheed noted that branch chairmen have the capacity to identify loan defaulters through the organization’s application system. He urged members to be God-fearing in their financial dealings, emphasizing the need to safeguard the collective resources of the foundation.
In his address, the Chairman of the branch, Mr. Mukthar Abolade, described the AGM as an avenue for members to review activities, assess performance, strengthen unity and chart a progressive path for the future.
He acknowledged that despite notable achievements, the branch continues to face challenges such as rising operational costs, increasing humanitarian demands and limited financial resources.
Delivering a lecture at the event, the Missioner of Parastatal Mosque, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ustadh Ajibade Toliat, described Waqf as a form of property or financial endowment dedicated to seeking the blessings of Almighty Allah. He commended the foundation for ensuring that members benefit from the initiative.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to dedicated and committed members of the foundation.
