The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, has congratulated Comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji on his well-deserved re-election as Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State Chapter.

In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Senator Adeola described Ogunsiji’s re-election as a clear testament to the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership, commitment, and capacity to advance the ideals of sports journalism in Ogun State.

According to him, the decision of SWAN members to entrust Ogunsiji with a second term is not merely an endorsement of his personality, but a resounding vote of confidence in the modest yet impactful achievements recorded during his first tenure.

He noted that under Ogunsiji’s leadership, the Ogun State chapter of SWAN has continued to project professionalism, promote sports development, and strengthen relationships between sports stakeholders and the media, achievements that have earned him overwhelming support from his colleagues.

“As you begin another term, I urge you and the newly inaugurated executive committee to build on the gains already made, remain united in purpose, and continue to champion initiatives that will further develop sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment, economic growth, and social cohesion in Ogun State,” the statement read.

Senator Adeola also commended members of the association for conducting a peaceful and rancour-free election, describing it as a reflection of the association’s maturity and strong democratic culture.

On behalf of the people of Ogun West Senatorial District, he wished Ogunsiji and his team a successful, impactful, and fulfilling tenure, while assuring them of his continued support for initiatives that promote sports development and empower young talents across the state.

The lawmaker further expressed optimism that, by the grace of God, when his administration assumes office in 2027, it will work closely with SWAN and other critical stakeholders to reposition the sports sector, unlock its economic potential, develop world-class sporting infrastructure, and create opportunities for youths to excel.

He concluded by congratulating Ogunsiji once again and wishing him a productive second term.
