A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Ezinne Nwanorue, has generated widespread backlash on social media after publicly celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Nwanorue.

In a Facebook post shared on Monday, Ezinne uploaded the funeral poster of the deceased and used harsh language to describe her, alleging that her late mother-in-law had been responsible for personal hardships in her life. 

The post, which included strong accusations and threats directed at perceived enemies, quickly went viral and drew criticism from many users who condemned the act as insensitive and inappropriate.

The controversy has further drawn attention to her strained relationship with her husband, Franklin Nwanorue. The couple had earlier gone viral after Ezinne made his relocation to Canada conditional on him publicly taking an oath of fidelity. 

In the widely circulated video, Franklin agreed to the condition, pledging to remain faithful.

However, Ezinne later accused him of infidelity despite the oath, escalating tensions within the family. Her recent comments following her mother-in-law’s death have reignited public scrutiny of the ongoing dispute.

Neither Franklin nor other members of the family have issued any official response to the latest development. 

Meanwhile, social media reactions remain divided, with many calling for restraint and respect in matters involving death and family disputes.
