Children, Teachers, Oyedokun’s Family Will Get Justice - Tinubu Vows - The Alternative News

President has expressed profound joy following the successful rescue of abducted children and teachers from the Oriire community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, by the security forces.

The President commended the gallant efforts of security agencies, particularly the military, the Department of State Security(DSS) and the Police, for their relentless operations over the past 56 days, which led to the safe release of the victims without any collateral damage.

He also confirmed the arrest of eight suspects, while others involved in the crime were neutralised.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed deep regret over the trauma endured by the victims, their families and the nation since the incident occurred.

Naija News reports that the President assured that justice would be served for the children, their teachers and the family of Mr. Oyedokun, who tragically lost his life while in captivity.

“I am profoundly happy that our security forces successfully rescued the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire, Ogbomoso in Oyo State today after a coordinated military, police and intelligence-driven operation,” the President stated.

“This successful operation has ended over 50 days of siege and brought relief to the nation, especially the affected families. On behalf of the country, I commend the officers and men of our armed forces, intelligence agencies and the police for ensuring the safe rescue of the victims.”

Tinubu further vowed that his administration would ensure justice is delivered.

“My government will get justice for these children and their teachers, as well as for the family of Mr. Oyedokun, who was murdered by the terrorists,” he added.

The President also praised the Oyo State Government for its cooperation with federal authorities throughout the rescue efforts and urged it to strengthen security measures around schools across the state.

Additionally, Tinubu directed emergency response agencies to collaborate with the state government in providing necessary medical care and relief support for the rescued children and their teachers.
