The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to begin a new leadership chapter as its outgoing Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, bows out of office and formally hands over to his successor, Prof. Segun Aina.

The Board announced that the official handover ceremony will take place on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and will be broadcast live across its official social media platforms.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, JAMB described the transition as a significant milestone in its leadership journey, inviting the public to witness the event.

Oloyede’s exit marks the end of his tenure as Registrar, while Aina’s assumption of office signals the commencement of a new administration.

The appointment of Aina was approved by Bola Tinubu and announced by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Aina, a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, is recognised for his expertise in digital infrastructure, national examination systems, and institutional reforms.

He holds academic qualifications from the University of Kent and Loughborough University, and also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

With over 15 years of experience, Aina has advised governments on digital transformation and worked with examination bodies such as the National Examinations Council and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board.

The Presidency noted that Aina is among the youngest professors in his field and will become the youngest Registrar in JAMB’s history. President Tinubu expressed confidence that he will build on the reforms and achievements recorded under Oloyede’s leadership.
