PFIPC ‘Fake DG’ Adeyemi Arrested in Osun After Weeks of Surveillance - The Alternative News

The self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force following a coordinated intelligence operation.

Adeyemi was apprehended last Tuesday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the Ijebu-Ijesa area of Osun State by the Intelligence Response Team led by Chief Superintendent of Police, Moses Lohor.

His arrest followed a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja after he allegedly failed to appear for arraignment on an eight-count charge.

According to a senior officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Adeyemi’s location was initially traced to the Aregbe-Fakule area of Osogbo on July 9 after he reportedly evaded earlier tracking efforts by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The source disclosed that the police team took over the operation after the DSS withdrew from the case. Adeyemi had reportedly been difficult to track due to frequently switching off his mobile phone.

Further intelligence later placed him in Ilesa, where operatives intensified surveillance before successfully arresting him.

The officer revealed that the Intelligence Response Team had initially been deployed to Osun State for security surveillance ahead of the August 15 governorship election, during which they identified and monitored high-risk locations.

Adeyemi is currently being held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja and is expected to be arraigned on July 27.
