Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not entertain criticism of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that the President prefers to take full responsibility for his own administration.
Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja at the Agric Development and Investment Summit, Shettima described Tinubu as a leader who avoids the blame game and is willing to own the outcomes of his policies and decisions.
According to the Vice President, Tinubu believes strongly that “the buck stops” with him, noting that the quickest way to provoke the President’s displeasure is to criticise Buhari.
“He is not someone who is fond of the blame game. For the past three years, the easiest way to earn the wrath of President Tinubu is to criticise Muhammadu Buhari. No, the buck stops at his desk and he is ready to take responsibility for whatever comes out of his actions,” Shettima stated.
Shettima further described Tinubu as a “game changer” committed to implementing bold and far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy. He added that some of these reforms are already yielding positive results.
The Vice President also emphasized Nigeria’s strategic importance to Africa’s growth and development, urging stakeholders and development partners to support the current administration in its efforts to transform the nation.
