2027 Hajj: Ogun Board Begins Mosque Sensitisation, Seeks Imams’ Support - The Alternative News

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced preparations for the 2027 Hajj with an engagement session with the League of Imams and Alfas in Yewaland.

The engagement is aimed at ensuring that intending pilgrims receive timely and accurate information about the registration process and are encouraged to register early for the pilgrimage.

The Board disclosed during the meeting that sensitisation programmes would soon be launched in mosques across Ogun State. The programmes are expected to educate prospective pilgrims on the procedures for registering for the 2027 Hajj, as well as other important preparations ahead of the pilgrimage.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Ajibola Taiwo, emphasised the important role of the League of Imams and Alfas in ensuring the success of the Hajj programme.

He explained that engaging religious leaders would help facilitate the dissemination of accurate information to intending pilgrims at the grassroots, while also encouraging them to take advantage of the early registration process.

Speaking on behalf of the Imams at the meeting, Sheikh Akewukanwo commended the Board for the engagement and for keeping Islamic leaders informed about preparations for the 2027 Hajj.

Akewukanwo assured the Board of the Imams’ support in mobilising prospective pilgrims across the Yewaland axis to commence their registration early.

He also pledged that the Imams would continue to sensitise worshippers by making announcements during Friday (Jumat) congregational prayers to ensure that intending pilgrims are adequately informed about the Hajj registration process.
