Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has charged the newly installed Sapenuwa of Ogbere in Ijebu East Local Government Area, Oba Callistus Falujo, to champion the State government's investment drive by fostering peace, attracting development and mobilising his people towards sustainable economic growth.

Abiodun, who gave the charge during the presentation of the staff of office and instrument of appointment to the monarch, urged residents of Ogbere, to partner with the government in advancing development by taking ownership of public projects and supporting laudable initiatives, aimed at improving the community.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Gov. Abiodun, said his administration remained committed to promoting industrial expansion and attracting high-value investments that would further improve the welfare of residents across Ogun State.

He urged Oba Falujo to prioritise the socio-economic development of Ogbere by mobilising the people to support government programmes, particularly through the prompt payment of approved taxes, rates and levies required to provide essential infrastructure and other social amenities.

Abiodun, commended the people of Ogbere for maintaining peace and stability throughout the fifteen-year interregnum following the death of the former Sapenuwa of Ogbere, Oba Michael Orelaja.

"I commend the people of Ogbere for sustaining peace and tranquillity throughout the 15 years the stool remained vacant after the demise of Oba Michael Orelaja. Your patience and unity have paved the way for this historic transition," the Governor said.

In his remark, the Chairman, Ijebu East Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Oluwadare Kehinde, noted that the installation was a significant milestone in the community, expressing confidence that the new monarch would promote unity among the people of Ogbere, attract investment and facilitate sustainable development in the kingdom.

Also speaking, the Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, Oba Folorunsho Oguntayo, appreciated the Governor for approving the installation of the monarch, advising Oba Falujo, to regard his ascension to the throne as a call to serve.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Falujo, thanked the Governor and other stakeholders for their support, calling on sons and daughters of Ogbere to work together to reposition the kingdom for greater progress and prosperity.

In the same vein, the Governor had also presented the staff of office and instrument of appointment to the new Kunusi of Odokunusi, Oba Sunday Adetola, in Ijebu East Local Government Area of the State.

Represented by Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, Abiodun charged the monarch to strengthen peaceful coexistence with neighbouring communities, promote collaboration among traditional rulers across Ijebuland and justify the confidence reposed in him through purposeful leadership.

Also congratulating the monarch, the Chairman, Ijebu East, Hon. Kehinde, said the monarch installation was a well-deserved elevation and expressed optimism that his reign would foster unity, peace and meaningful development in Odokunusi and the entire Ijebu Imushin community.

Speaking about the new monarch,  the Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Sikiru Okuribido, described him as a humble and an approachable man, while he urged residents of Odokunusi to support the traditional ruler to accelerate the community's development.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Sunday Adetola, expressed profound gratitude to God,  kingmakers,  government and the people of the community for finding him worthy of the throne, noting that his ascension was a testament to the virtues of patience, perseverance and unwavering faith.

"Today, I urge everyone, especially our youths, to embrace endurance, knowing that every season has its appointed time. With unity, peace and collective commitment, we will work together to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for our kingdom," the monarch said.

Dignitaries at the ceremonies was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Emiola Gazal, Royal Fathers etc.
