Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez, in a private ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.

Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing a photo of the couple’s hands displaying their wedding rings, accompanied by the caption: “C ❤️ G.”

The ceremony, described by Ronaldo’s representatives as “private and intimate,” was attended by the couple’s five children.

The wedding came exactly one year after Rodríguez, 32, announced their engagement on Instagram, bringing their decade-long relationship to a new chapter.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez first met in 2016 while Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. She later described their meeting as “love at first sight.”

The couple had kept the details of their wedding largely private, despite intense speculation in the Portuguese media about the venue. Reports had previously linked the ceremony to Sintra near Lisbon and Funchal in Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace.

They eventually chose Cascais, an upscale seaside resort about 30 kilometres west of Lisbon, where they own a villa.

Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and remains one of football’s most recognisable figures.

 

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner previously starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Rodríguez has also built a major public profile through her Netflix reality series “I Am Georgina,” which documents her family life, fashion and travels.

Together, the couple have more than 750 million social-media followers and business interests spanning fashion and hospitality, making them one of the world’s most prominent celebrity couples.
