The Osun State Police Command has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, over his alleged comment calling on APC supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party.
The invitation follows widespread outrage after the remarks, reportedly made during an APC campaign rally in Ilesa, went viral on social media.
In a letter dated August 11, 2026, the police asked Fadahunsi to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Osogbo at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, to clarify the circumstances surrounding the statement.
The letter, signed by Samuel Etaifo Erale, Commissioner of Police for Elections in Osun State, said the invitation was based on information alleging that the senator made statements considered “threatening, inciting and intimidating in nature.”
The police also noted that the alleged remarks had circulated widely across electronic and social media platforms.
The development comes amid heightened political tensions ahead of the Osun governorship election, with political parties intensifying their campaigns across the state.
