Gov. Abiodun Installs Elegushi of Egushi Ota - The Alternative News

 





Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has installed HRH Oba Adio Maroof, Arole Ogunmisi Alagbe 1, as the New Elegushi of Egushi, Ota Awori Kingdom.

Speaking during the installation and official presentation of Staff of Office to the Monarch, in Ota, Ado Odo Local Government, the Governor emphasised that traditional institutions were to serve as the bridge between the Government, grassroots and the people.

Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Gov. Abiodun applauded the people of the community for maintaining peace and support during the selection process, stating that the installation aligned with the Oba and the Chiefs law of Ogun State 2021 and customs.

He informed that the Oba was expected to promote peaceful coexistence amongst his people, cooperate with other royal fathers, while adhering strictly to the land grabbing Prohibition Law, urging continued support and cooperation from the indigenes of the community as they continue to identify with the new monarch.

Also speaking, Olota of Ota, HRH Oba (Prof) AbdulKabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, appreciated the Governor of Ogun State, for his support in ensuring that the Monarch stool was upgraded from a Baale to a Coronate Oba, saying this act would further bring  development to the area.

While calling for unity amongst the various communities in Ado-Odo Ota, The Olota, stressed that unity and harmony were essential ingredients for a prosperous and peaceful future.

In his remarks, Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Hon. Adewale Lawal, encouraged the new monarch to make his community a haven for intending investors saying, this would create job opportunities for the indigenes of the area and State, while underscoring the need for him to be fair and just in all matters concerning his subjects.
