Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has urged a newly appointed Coronet Oba to emulate the legacy of the late Awujale of Ijebu land, Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona, who significantly contributed to the growth and development of his domain during his reign.
The advice was given to the Alaye of Imobi land, Oba Fatai Olatunji Balogun, during his official installation and presentation of instruments of office in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of the State.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, the Governor emphasized the State Government's steadfast commitment to fostering industrial growth and attracting high-value investments for the collective benefit of all.
He maintained that this commitment should be mirrored at the grassroots level, where coronets were established.
" I encourage the people of Imobi to become proactive champions of the State Government's investment initiatives, ensuring that progress thrives within their community and beyond" he said.
Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Dr. Sunday Oluwadamilare, congratulated the new monarch and highlighted the shared responsibility of both leaders and citizens in driving societal growth and development. He emphasized the importance of harnessing resources for progressive leadership.
Also lending his voice, the Obiri of Aiyepe, Oba Adebisi Okubanjo, advocated for an inclusive reign in Imobi land, noting that such an approach would be essential for earning the loyalty, trust, and cooperation of the people.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Balogun, expressed gratitude to the State government and pledged his commitment to transformative leadership in Imobi.
The event was also attended by the Former Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Rasak Daddah, royal fathers, and indigenes of Imobi land, among others.
