Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died at the age of 66 after battling cancer.

Hassan reportedly died on Sunday following his prolonged struggle with the illness.

A video circulating on social media showed his daughter, Kira Taiwo, in tears as she announced her father’s death, repeatedly saying, “My daddy is dead.”

The development comes days after Kira and her sister, Haleemah, disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and appealed for public support as the family explored treatment options.

Hassan was a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language productions, where he built a successful career spanning several decades.

He was widely recognised for his distinctive acting style and numerous roles in Yoruba films, earning him the nickname “Ogogo” and a strong following among Nollywood audiences.
