In a strategic move to enhance the influence of traditional rulers at the grassroots level, the Ogun State Government has officially installed Oba Samsudeen Akeso, as the Oluperin of Iperin Kingdom in the Odogbolu Local Government Area.

Representing the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, highlighted the administration's deliberate efforts to increase the number of coronets in local communities, saying the initiative was aimed to fortify traditional institutions as extensions of governmental authority, thereby improving the lives of the populace.

Speaking, Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Diya, said in his welcome address that the elevation signified the government's dedication to empowering traditional institutions, affirming the State government's unwavering support for the traditional institution in the interest of the people.

In his goodwill message, the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, Oba Lawrence Adebajo, called for an inclusive reign. He urged the people of Iperin Kingdom to support the Oba and encouraged the monarch to extend a hand of fellowship to former rivals for a harmonious and successful reign.

In a related development, the State Government also installed Oba Kolawole Abdul-Salam, as the Jaun of Igbile Kingdom in Odogbolu Local Government.

Governor Abiodun, who was also represented by Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, reiterated the importance of an inclusive reign, noting that Coronet Obas have a mandate to impact their communities positively.

In his remarks, Oba Kolawole, expressed gratitude to the Abiodun-led Government, emphasising that his installation was not only a symbol of authority but also a sacred trust, assuring a reign, focused on developmental progress.

The event was graced by distinguished attendees, including; former Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Rasak Daddah and a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olalekan Lukman. Additionally, esteemed royal fathers and other notable figures were present.
