OGSG Launches New Projects In Ado-Odo/Ota - The Alternative News

The Ogun State Government has announced the launch of new projects in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, reinforcing its commitment to grassroots development across the State.

Unveiling the projects for commissioning, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, applauded the resourcefulness of the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lawal Adewale, while he urged the benefiting communities to continue to give their maximum support to the Chairman to ensure the continued receipt of developmental benefits.

"I commend the Chairman for his initiatives and projects. Having funds is one thing; utilising them judiciously is another. These grassroots development projects being commissioned here clearly address the needs of the people and fulfill our promises," noted Hamzat.

In his welcome address, Hon. Lawal Adewale, stated that good governance results from the commitment of both the government and the governed. He explained that statutory fees, levies and government allocations had been effectively transformed into the development currently being witnessed.

"What we witness here is not accidental. These projects are the result of deliberate and well-managed allocations and locally generated revenue. As long as you fulfill your responsibilities to the government, the government will remain committed to your welfare," he stated.

Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabiru Adeyemi Obalanlege, in his goodwill message, commended the Governor Abiodun-led administration for its support for the Chairman, while he also appealed to the councillors to maintain the harmonious relationships among political office holders for the benefit of all.

The commissioned projects encompassed solar-powered boreholes in Ado-Odo and Agbara Village, the renovation of classroom blocks in Igbesa and Akasun Village, the construction of drainage systems and culverts in Olosun, Oloja-Ekun, and Akinbo Okede, as well as the asphalt paving of the Local Government Secretariat, among other initiatives.
