Ogun Governor Enjoins New Alagbe Monarch, Subjects To Drive Community Development - The Alternative News

 


The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called on the newly installed Anwa of Alagbe and the residents of the community to serve as champions that will join in pushing up the State government’s development agenda.

Governor Abiodun, made the call during the official installation and presentation of the staff of office to Oba Joseph Iroko as the new Anwa of Alagbe in the Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of the State.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, the Governor underscored the critical role of community cooperation in sustaining high-value investments across Ogun.


He urged the residents to shun any activities capable of undermining government efforts toward state-wide development.

 Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb.) Theophilus Olorode, commended the Governor for his unwavering commitment to peace, unity and the elevation of traditional institutions.

He urged the new monarch to embrace his mantle with humility, advising him to lead with wisdom, justice and a clear vision for progress.




In his acceptance speech, Oba Iroko, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun for ensuring justice prevailed throughout the selection process, pledging his full alignment with the administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda.

The monarch also appealed to all sons and daughters of Alagbe to unite in charting a new course for the community's advancement, promising to discharge his duties with the fear of God, equity and fairness.

Also speaking at the event, 2 of the community stakeholders, Mr. Cosmas Kehinde and Mr. Samuel Ajayi, expressed gratitude to God for witnessing the historical milestone.

They advised the royal father to leverage his position to unite Alagbe indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to attract developmental projects to the town and its environs.
