Pastor Olabanjo Felix Gold, founder of Image of God Evangelical and Prophetic Ministries, has announced his conversion from Christianity to Ìṣẹ̀ṣe, the traditional Yoruba religious practice, saying his spiritual journey led him to embrace Ifá.

The cleric made the announcement in a video shared online, where he introduced himself by his new spiritual identity, Ifawamiri Aworan Olodumare, Babalawo of Ifá.

Olabanjo expressed appreciation to Ifá and the traditional religious elders whom he said guided him through his spiritual journey.

He particularly thanked his Oluwo, Baba Aifuwapẹ, identified as Oluṣẹgun Latunji, the Araba of Isararemọ.

He also appreciated others who, according to him, supported him throughout the process, while acknowledging the importance of elders in traditional spiritual practices.

The former pastor further criticised what he described as “foreign religions,” declaring that Ìṣẹ̀ṣe was, in his view, the authentic spiritual path.

His announcement has generated reactions online, with social media users debating his decision to leave Christianity and embrace traditional Yoruba spirituality.

Olabanjo’s declaration marks a major change in his religious identity, having previously served as the founder of Image of God Evangelical Ministries before his transition to Ifá practice.
