Osun Guber: Adeleke Leads APC Rival by 64,148 Votes After 14 LGAs - The Alternative News

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is currently leading the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, by 64,148 votes based on results declared from 14 of the state’s 30 local government areas.

Figures collated from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) local government collation centres show that Adeleke, the candidate of the Accord Party, has so far secured 268,957 votes, while Oyebamiji has polled 204,809 votes.

Adeleke has won nine of the 14 LGAs declared, while the APC candidate has secured victories in five.

The governor recorded his strongest performances in Ede North, where he scored 35,427 votes against the APC’s 10,283, and Osogbo, where he polled 36,480 votes to defeat the APC’s 30,474 votes.

In Ede South, Adeleke secured 26,188 votes against the APC’s 6,219, while he also won Iwo with 27,085 votes against Oyebamiji’s 19,660 votes.

The APC, however, recorded victories in Irepodun, where it polled 15,713 votes against Adeleke’s 14,502, as well as Obokun, where it secured 16,120 votes against 12,023 votes recorded by Adeleke.

The APC also won in Ola-Oluwa, Atakunmosa East and Ife South.
However, the results currently available cover only 14 of the state’s 30 local government areas. The overall winner therefore cannot yet be determined as collation continues.

INEC is expected to announce the final result after the completion of the collation process.
