Nigeria’s Super Falcons have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the  after a commanding 6–2 victory over Egypt in their final Group C fixture on Wednesday.

The defending champions went into the encounter under pressure, needing a convincing win to guarantee progression following an opening defeat to Malawi and a narrow victory over Zambia.

Rising to the occasion, the Super Falcons delivered an attacking masterclass, netting six goals against the North Africans, who managed just two in response. The emphatic result sealed Nigeria’s qualification for the knockout stage as they continue their pursuit of a record-extending 11th continental title.

The performance marked a remarkable turnaround for the team, led by coach , after their shock loss to tournament debutants Malawi. Nigeria had earlier revived their campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Zambia, despite playing a significant part of that match with 10 players.

With momentum now firmly on their side, the Super Falcons will await their quarter-final opponents as they aim to retain their crown in Morocco.
