Dapo Abiodun Shopping Mall, Other Projects Commissioned In Remo North - The Alternative News

 


In an effort to promote economic development at the local level and support small scale businesses with the creation of a conducive environment for traders to operate, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, has commissioned a shopping mall named after the Governor, together with various people-oriented projects across the 10 wards of Remo North local government area of the State.


Speaking at the commissioning of the 21 developmental projects, Hon. Hamzat, commended the chairman for attending to the needs of his people thereby bringing dividends of democracy to the populace.


He noted that the initiative would provide entrepreneurs with secured and organised spaces to conduct their businesses while contributing to the growth and development of the community.


He maintained that the aim of the present administration was to ensure that all electioneering promises were fulfilled and as such provided an enabling environment and the wherewithal for the Chairmen to execute the projects.


Hamzat, consequently urged residents to protect and maintain the shops, stressing that proper maintenance and responsible use were essential to ensuring that the facilities would continue to serve their intended purpose for years to come.


In his address, the Chairman, Hon. Olumuyiwa Sodade, appreciated the Governor for the support given to the chairmen to cascade development to the grassroot, stressing that the commissioning of the Dapo Abiodun Shopping Mall was aimed to immortalise and honour a great leader.


He emphasised that the projects executed were reflections of his administration's commitment to the grassroot development and improved quality of life, adding that the commissioning of the lock up shops would further enhance commercial activities, create employment opportunities and improve the livelihood of residents.


He noted that the various projects commissioned were testament to his administration's commitment to responsive, inclusive and sustainable grassroot development.
