Chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina, has been lauded for the successful completion of a 1.3km asphalt road at Ita Baale, Adigbe, alongside other newly delivered and commissioned projects within the local government area.

Commissioning the projects, Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, commended the Chairman for his people-oriented governance and prudent utilisation of resources for the community's benefit.

 "It is one thing to be provided with resources; it is another to utilise them effectively. The Chairman has honored his commitment by addressing the needs of his constituents, and I urge the community to adopt a maintenance culture to ensure sustainable development," he stated.

Ambassador Ogunsola, expressed gratitude to the Abiodun administration for creating an enabling environment that facilitated the extension of good governance benefits to the grassroots, reaffirming his dedication to transformative leadership that aligned with the State Government's vision.

"Our agenda is to enhance the lives of our people through projects and initiatives spanning various sectors. This road project, among others being commissioned today, will not only improve accessibility but also positively impact the socio-economic life of the community," he remarked.

In their respective goodwill messages, Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Hon. Akeem Babatunde and Leader of the House, Obafemi-Owode, Hon. Ariyibi Saheed, emphasised the significance of electing credible leaders, which had yielded substantial benefits for the populace. They noted that the transformation in Obafemi-Owode was remarkable and served as a model worthy of emulation.

During his address, Baale, Adigbe community, Chief Babatunde Yusuf, conveyed the community's satisfaction with the recent developments, noting that the new road effectively addresses a longstanding issue for the residents.

Additional projects that were inaugurated include the construction of classroom blocks equipped with furniture in Asipa, Ajebo and Ofada; the development of lock-up shops at Kajola market; the installation of motorway culverts in Egbeda; the establishment of a motorized borehole in Ajura; and the renovation of the information, education and agriculture departments within the Secretariat, among others.

The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Babatunde Emilola-Gazal, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, along with party leaders, market leaders, community leaders and members of the host community.
