NSCDC Zonal Commander, ACG Iskil Ayinla Makinde, Retires At 60 - The Alternative News

 


Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Iskil Ayinla Makinde, Zonal Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zone 11, Akure, Ondo State, has retired from active service after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.


Makinde was celebrated by colleagues, family members, traditional rulers, retired military personnel and other dignitaries during a ceremony held at the Civil Defence College of Security Management, Oke‑Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State.




Speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Oludaisi Elemide, described the celebrant as a diligent and hardworking officer who served the country wholeheartedly. He urged serving officers of the corps to emulate Makinde’s exemplary character, dedication and commitment to national service.




Also speaking, the former Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr Adewale Abolurin, described ACG Makinde as an elegant scholar, a diligent professional and a man of integrity. He noted that the retired officer had served in various departments, directorates and states, including Ogun and Edo, during his distinguished career.

The Provost of the Civil Defence College of Security Management, ACG Niyi Akinyelure, described Makinde as a down‑to‑earth and gentle person who was always mindful of other people’s feelings. He commended the retired officer for his doggedness, professionalism and commitment throughout his years of active service.




In his remarks, the Ondo State Commandant of the NSCDC, Cmdt Oluyemi Joshua, thanked Makinde for his astute leadership and for encouraging officers and personnel. He prayed for God’s continued guidance and blessings on the retired officer and wished him success in his future endeavours.


Earlier in his welcome address, the Zonal Commander, Lagos Zone 1, ACG Michael Akinbo, described Makinde as a complete gentleman who demonstrated professionalism, discipline, leadership, diligence and a strong sense of responsibility throughout his career. He expressed appreciation for the years the retired officer devoted to the NSCDC and to national service.


The Apena of Egbaland, Chief Alani Bankole, and the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Talihat Ayilara, also commended Makinde for his immense contributions to the development of the NSCDC and his community. They described him as a hardworking and generous individual who never looked down on others and who consistently demonstrated commitment to his duties.




In his response, ACG Makinde expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Interior for the opportunity to serve the nation. He described his years in service as a privilege and vowed to continue contributing to the development of his community and the country at large.


The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts, the cutting of a birthday cake and the ceremonial pulling‑out parade for the celebrant.
