Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, has inaugurated 6 District Town Planning Offices that will be headed by Senior Town Planning Officers across the State to superintendent over the 32 Zonal town planning offices in the State, as part of efforts to strengthen physical planning administration and improve service delivery at the grassroot level.

Making the announcement after the inauguration was the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPl. Olatunji Odunlami, in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying that the new District offices established cut across the 3 Senatorial Districts and they included; Ogun East Districts 1 and 2, Ogun West Districts 1 and 2 and Ogun Central Districts 1 and 2, created with the expectations of coordinating supervision and monitoring of town planning activities within their respective zones, bringing planning services closer to residents and property developers across the State.

In a meeting with the 6 new Districts Officers with their zonal officers, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPl. Olatunji Odunlami, charged them to discharge their duties with the highest level of professionalism, emphasising the need for transparency, diligence and strict adherence to due process in the performance of their responsibilities.

The Commissioner further urged the officers to serve as good ambassadors of the Ministry, noting that their conduct in the course of duty would reflect not only on the Ministry but on the State government's commitment to orderly and sustainable urban development.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining exemplary conduct at all times, cautioning against practices that could undermine public confidence in the planning process and reiterated the Ministry's resolve to ensure sanity in physical development across Ogun State.

Responding on behalf of the officers, TPl. Idowu Bamidele, District Officer, Ogun East 1, and TPl. Adetunji Michael, Zonal Town Planning Officer, Owode zone, pledged their commitment to upholding the ideals of professionalism, integrity and good conduct in the discharge of their duties, assuring the Commissioner of their readiness to work in line with the Ministry's vision for orderly and sustainable urban development in the State.
