In a significant recognition of his digital governance strategy, Governor Dapo Abiodun has again added another prestigious accolade, ‘Governor of the Year Public Service Innovation’ to his growing collections,  at the 8th edition of The Nigeria eGovernment Excellence Award Summit 2026 held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja. 

  The Summit , themed “Mainstreaming Technologies in Nigeria Election Management,” was organised by DigiServe Network Services, with the primary aim of recognising and celebrating organisations and individuals driving the nation’s digital government transformation agenda.  

   Presenting the Award, Executive Chairman, DigiServe Network Services, Engr Lanre Ajayi said the latest recognition served as a testament to the strategic investments made by the Ogun state government in building a robust digital infrastructure and fostering a tech-friendly environment. 

    He added that from e-payment systems for taxes , levies to digital land administration and online citizen feedback portals ; the State had woven technology into the fabric of its daily operations, setting a benchmark for others to follow.   

    Receiving the award,  Governor Abiodun expressed gratitude and reiterated the unwavering commitment of his administration to using technology as a tool for inclusive development and efficient public service delivery.  

     Abiodun stated that the theme reflects the growing intersection of technology and democratic processes, which not only highlights digital governance in the State, but the present administration’s potential contributions to the broader national conversation on modernising electoral systems.  

 

    He emphasised that as his   administration continues to receive plaudits for its forward-thinking policies, the Award of Excellence from the Nigeria eGovernment Summit 2026 will be seen as both a validation of past efforts and a catalyst for future innovation, saying it would reinforce Ogun’s position as a leading light in Nigeria’s journey towards a fully digital and transparent government.
