At least 15 people have been killed in separate attacks by suspected terrorists in three local government areas of Plateau State.

The attacks occurred on Sunday night in Jos South, Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas, with nine of the victims reportedly among passengers travelling to Jos.

In Dungus community, Jos South LGA, gunmen opened fire on a vehicle conveying passengers to Jos at about 9:40 p.m. According to Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, nine people were killed in the attack, including a member of Operation Rainbow.

Tengwong said some passengers sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to hospitals, where some later died.

A resident, Musa Dauda, also confirmed that some of the injured victims died while receiving treatment, while others remained hospitalised.

In Mangu LGA, suspected terrorists reportedly attacked Vodni in Pushit District, killing two people and injuring four others. The injured victims were receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangu town.

Similarly, two people were reportedly killed in a separate attack at Tahoos in Riyom LGA.

As of the time of filing the report, the Plateau State Police Command spokesman, Alabo Alfred, and the Media Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, Chinonso Oteh, had not responded to enquiries about the attacks.
