Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has described Nigeria as a toxic environment, saying relocating abroad has brought him the peace and happiness he struggled to find while living in the country.
As reported by PM News, Bobrisky made the remarks in an Instagram Story on Saturday while reflecting on his nearly two years away from Nigeria.
He said the constant cycle of drama, gossip and public disagreements in Nigeria had negatively affected his peace of mind, adding that leaving the country had significantly changed his life.
“I can tell you for free, Nigeria is such a toxic environment. Every day, it’s one fight, drama, or gossip after another.
Leaving that space has brought me so much peace, and honestly, I’ve never looked this pretty, happy, and refreshed in my life,” he wrote.
The socialite added that he had spent almost two years without engaging in any personal fight or public disagreement and was determined to maintain the peaceful lifestyle.
“Peace looks so good on me, and I promise myself that I will never allow anyone or anything to take this beautiful peace away from me. I’m protecting my happiness, my growth, and my peace at all costs,” he stated.
Bobrisky left Nigeria in November 2024 following a public controversy involving the Federal Government over allegations that he did not properly serve his prison sentence.
He was sentenced in April 2024 to six months' imprisonment without the option of a fine after pleading guilty to naira abuse, specifically mutilating the Nigerian currency by spraying banknotes at social events.
Since relocating abroad, Bobrisky has repeatedly spoken about prioritising his personal well-being and enjoying what he describes as greater peace and acceptance outside Nigeria.
