The Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism has trained staffers of Olumo Rock Tourist Complex on improved work ethics ahead of the reopening of the Tourist site.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, at the training in June 12 Cultural Centre Abeokuta, charged members of staff to be responsible and committed to their duty, utilise all the trainings, especially on modern trends and technology that has been introduced into how the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex would be run on its reopening.
Hon. Fagbayi, added that the Governor Dapo Abiodun had put in place several machineries to develop and preserve the State's cultural and historical sites towards boosting its rich heritage and promoting socio-economic development of the State.
He commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun’s led administration for his undeterred passion for developing the State's tourism sector, especially with the new facelift given to the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex.
"We really want to appreciate the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his commitment towards revamping the tourist site with modern facilities, sculptures, introduction of the E-ticketing and the partnership with the Nike Art Gallery, now situated in the complex in order to attract more tourists.
In his contribution, Permanent Secretary, in the Ministry Dr. Yusuff Quudus, said that training was necessary to educate staffers on the new changes, rules and operations on how the tourist site would be run on its reopening, urging the participants to stick to the new work ethics and ensure collaborative efforts towards optimal productivity and professionalism.
The training session by the Director, Tourism Development and Promotions, Mr. Mike Ogunbiyi, delved on modified work ethics for all units from the security, administrative staff, tour guides, ticketers and assessors aimed at equipping them for the new task ahead, ensure accountability as well as improved staff professionalism.
It would be recalled that the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex was locked up by the State Government on the 14th of April, 2025 for general renovations and facelift.
