Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd), former Chief Security Officer to late General Sani Abacha and 2023 presidential candidate of the Action Alliance, has declared his intention to run for president in the 2027 general elections under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The declaration was made during a meeting with SDP state executives and supporters in Minna, Niger State.

Al-Mustapha emphasized integrity, national rebirth, and purposeful leadership as the pillars of his campaign.

He expressed concern over the current state of Nigeria but remained optimistic about national recovery through united efforts.

This move is part of his broader nationwide consultation tour ahead of the elections.

He also visited flood victims in Mokwa, demonstrating empathy and commitment to disaster response.

The SDP state chairman, Alhaji Buhari Yakubu Yarima, hailed the declaration as a major boost to the party's 2027 aspirations.

Campaign spokesperson Jubril Umar Sanda said Al-Mustapha is fully prepared and equipped with a clear plan for national progress.
