PDP Reinstates Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary - The Alternative News

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially reaffirmed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary. The announcement was made on Monday by the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, following a high-level NEC meeting at the party's headquarters in Abuja.

Senator Anyanwu, known as a political ally of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, had been at the center of internal leadership tensions within the PDP. However, Damagum emphasized that the NEC’s decision represents the final stance of the party’s top decision-making body.

In a show of unity, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed declared an end to internal wrangling, describing the resolution as a "miracle of the PDP." He stressed that the National Working Committee (NWC) had reconciled all internal disputes and expressed confidence in the party’s leadership.

> “The NWC has collapsed all differences... We are solidly behind this NWC and governors,” said Mohammed, dismissing the need for parallel stakeholder meetings.

In addition, the PDP has scheduled its 101st NEC meeting for July 23, aimed at concluding arrangements for the party’s forthcoming national convention.
