Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has lauded the Federal High Court in Abuja for overturning the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by the Nigerian Senate.

In a statement shared via his verified social media handle, Atiku commended Justice Binta Nyako for what he described as a courageous move to uphold the rule of law. He condemned the suspension as “obnoxious” and praised the court's decision as a victory for justice and democratic principles.

“I commend Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the courage in lifting the obnoxious suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan,” he wrote.

The former Vice President also applauded Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for taking a principled stand by challenging the Senate’s action.

“I also hail Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for challenging the illegality of her suspension by not sleeping on her rights in a chamber where women are already vulnerable,” he added.

Atiku emphasized that asserting one’s rights in a democratic system often comes with a price, but insisted that no cost is too great in the pursuit of justice.
