The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Liman Muhammad Baba, for allegedly killing his 80-year-old father, Malam Baba Siti, during a heated altercation in Uzum village, Giade LGA.

Police spokesman, SP Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the incident, stating it occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. Acting on a distress call, officers found the victim in a pool of blood. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect struck his father on the head with a stick, causing instant death.

The victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Giade, where he was confirmed dead. The suspect, who was arrested at the scene, is currently in custody as investigations continue. Police say he will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
