Bode George Blasts Atiku, David Mark Over ADC Coalition, Says "They Messed Up PDP" - The Alternative News

Veteran politician and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has lashed out at Atiku Abubakar and David Mark for joining the newly formed ADC-led opposition coalition, calling their decision "illogical, ill-timed, and selfish."

In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, George accused the defectors of pursuing personal presidential ambitions rather than working toward the collective good of Nigerians. He questioned their loyalty, saying “If your roof is leaking, do you abandon the house or fix it? They were part of the PDP crisis, and now that we’ve resolved it, why are they running?”

The former PDP Deputy National Chairman argued that abandoning the PDP at this critical moment only weakens efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027. He emphasized that almost every member of the coalition, except Rauf Aregbesola, is eyeing the presidency, predicting the alliance will eventually collapse under competing ambitions.

“They have divided the house they helped build. It’s not about Nigeria; it’s about their ambitions,” George stated.

He also mocked the logic behind the coalition, saying it lacks political strategy and unity. George claimed the likes of Atiku and David Mark had already damaged the PDP during the last national convention, and accused them of deserting the party they once benefited from.

In a dramatic twist, George speculated, sarcastically, that President Tinubu may be using supernatural means to confuse his political opponents:

“Maybe Bola Tinubu has gone to a babalawo (herbalist). That’s why they’re running around irrationally.”

He concluded by affirming that the PDP remains the true opposition and urged defectors to return to help rebuild the "broken walls of the nation."
