Pastor Tunde Bakare has revealed that former President Muhammadu Buhari denied authorising the 2021 raid on the Ibadan home of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho. Speaking during a TVC interview on Beyond The Headlines, Bakare said Buhari told him he was unaware of the operation, which was carried out by security operatives.

Bakare recounted confronting Buhari over the incident, expressing his anger and stating he wouldn’t visit him again. In response, Buhari reportedly told him that some security agencies often act independently and falsely claim presidential directives after the fact.

Bakare, a former presidential aspirant, noted that while he didn’t criticise Buhari publicly often, the Igboho raid was a rare exception.
