Era of 'Unknown Gunmen' Must End — Plateau Governor Mutfwang Vows After Fresh Killings - The Alternative News

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has condemned the recent killing of at least 27 farmers, including women and children, in Bindi-Jebbu community, Riyom LGA, vowing that the era of so-called “unknown gunmen” must come to an end.

During a visit to the affected communities on Wednesday, the governor expressed outrage that the attack still occurred despite prior intelligence. He called for a total overhaul of the security approach in the state.

> “It is very sad that we got intelligence for this attack, yet it still happened,” Mutfwang said.

He demanded that security agencies arrest those behind the attack, insisting the perpetrators are known and must not go unpunished.

> “How can people come and kill in broad daylight, and we still claim they are unknown? The era of unknown gunmen is over,” he added.

Mutfwang urged security personnel to live up to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property, describing attackers as enemies of the state who must be dealt with.

The governor also promised support for survivors and announced that coordinated mass burials would be held for the victims.
