The Permanent Member III of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Abiodun Ajayi, has again extended his generosity to his alma mater, Catholic Comprehensive High School, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, by donating another set of school uniforms to reduce financial burden on parents and inspire the students to aim high in their academic pursuits.

The donation, done within the school premises, was met with great excitement as students received the uniforms with visible joy and gratitude.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ajayi stated that the initiative was part of his personal commitment to give back to society and support educational development. He explained that the gesture was intended to reduce the financial burden on parents and contribute to a more conducive learning environment for students.

 “When you come around and see the situation, it is quite appalling. So I’m just doing my best in the service of humanity,” he said.

He revealed that over 200 sets of uniforms have been distributed so far as part of his broader efforts to support public education and promote human development.

Hon. Ajayi also initiated a one-term transportation support for three students of the school who had been walking long distances to the school due to their parents’ inability to afford transport fares.

In her remarks, a teacher at the school, Mrs. Omolara Adebayo, commended Hon. Ajayi for his thoughtful contributions, noting that the uniforms would not only improve the students’ physical appearance but also boost their confidence and morale. She acknowledged the support of Governor Dapo Abiodun for his efforts in making education more accessible and affordable across the State.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Miss Taiwo Ogundare and Master Ilesanmi Ibrahim, both from Senior Secondary School 2, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Ajayi for the generous donation, pledging to make good use of the uniforms and remain committed to their academic goals.
