"I’ll Be a Vulcaniser in My Next Life" – Davido Claps Back at Trolls - The Alternative News

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has once again addressed criticism over his wealthy background, declaring sarcastically that in his next life, he would return as a vulcaniser to avoid the backlash.

The singer, born David Adeleke and son of billionaire businessman Adedeji Adeleke, made the remark in response to social media users trolling him for frequently flaunting his father’s private jets.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Davido wrote:

“This free jet wey I dey fly all around the world dey really pain una. I’m sorry it’s my birthright. In my next life, I go come back as vulcaniser. Ma binu.”

The singer mockingly sympathized with those who attempt to downplay his achievements, emphasizing that he cannot apologize for his privileged background.

This isn’t the first time Davido has spoken about the hate he receives over his family wealth. In previous interviews, he lamented how some in the music industry and public refuse to acknowledge his hard work, often attributing his success solely to his father’s influence.

Despite the criticism, Davido remains one of Africa’s biggest music exports, with numerous awards and international collaborations to his name.
