2027: ADC Will Collapse Within 6 Months – Presidency - The Alternative News

The Presidency has dismissed the newly formed opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as unsustainable, predicting that it will disintegrate within six months due to a lack of ideology and coherence.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking on Politics Today, a political programme on Channels Television.

“This coalition of internally displaced politicians has not been able to come up with a single alternative policy, They simply criticise the government without providing vision or solutions," Bwala said.

Bwala’s comments come amid concerns raised by Datti Baba-Ahmed, the 2023 Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, who had earlier warned that the race for a consensus presidential candidate could tear the coalition apart. Baba-Ahmed urged Nigerians not to be overly excited about the alliance, calling for a cautious and realistic approach.

Bwala echoed that sentiment, mocking the coalition’s inability to offer concrete policy alternatives or a unified front. He criticized opposition figures, including Peter Obi, for “failing to counter government policies with substance.”

“They are yet to demonstrate to Nigerians that they truly care,” he added, branding the coalition a grouping of “internally displaced politicians.”

He further stated that President Tinubu’s administration remains focused and unthreatened, brushing aside talk of a united opposition front as political noise without weight.

The comments underscore the Presidency’s confidence in its position ahead of the 2027 general elections, while hinting at possible friction already brewing within the opposition bloc.
