The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

This was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations. According to NECO, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects and took place from May 12 to May 23, 2025.

While the overall performance of candidates was not disclosed, the results were released following the 2025 BECE Awards Committee Meeting held at NECO Headquarters in Minna.

Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and Chairperson of the Awards Committee, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination and the release process.

The statement also announced that the BECE Resit Examination for Mathematics and English Studies has been scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025.
