The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has claimed that “haters of Nigeria’s progress” are plotting to overthrow the Tinubu administration.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Onanuga described Tinubu’s government as “the most focused and transformative in Nigeria’s history,” emphasizing that its economic reforms, though tough, are beginning to reshape the nation.

He referenced a 2022 warning by Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, who cautioned that any reform-minded government would face difficult times and that Nigerians should not expect an easy road to prosperity.

Onanuga's remarks follow the formation of a coalition of opposition parties, adopting the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
