WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons Aim to Extend Unbeaten Run – Coach Madugu - The Alternative

Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, has expressed confidence ahead of Nigeria’s final Group B match against Algeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The game is scheduled for Sunday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

Having already qualified for the quarter-finals following wins over Tunisia and Botswana, the nine-time African champions need just a point to finish top of their group. However, Madugu insists the team will play for a win to maintain their unbeaten streak.

“Our commitment has been to take it one game at a time... We respect all the teams but fear none,” Madugu told thenff.com.

Nigeria may face either Morocco or Zambia in the quarter-finals. They will, however, be without key midfielder Deborah Abiodun, who is suspended after receiving two yellow cards in the first two games.
