President Bola Tinubu will on Monday host the triumphant Super Falcons and officials of the Nigerian women’s national football team at the State House in Abuja, DAILY POST reports.

The team is expected to arrive in Nigeria from Morocco late Sunday night following their historic victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

President Tinubu is expected to reward the players and their officials handsomely for their outstanding performance and commitment throughout the tournament.

It will be recalled that the President approved the payment of the team’s outstanding bonuses and allowances on the eve of Saturday’s final match against the host nation, Morocco.

In a thrilling comeback, the Super Falcons overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat the Atlas Lionesses 3-2, clinching their 10th WAFCON title and reinforcing their status as the most successful women’s football team on the continent.
