The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has gained momentum in Yobe State following a mass defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A large number of defectors from Damagum in Fune Local Government Area—the hometown of PDP National Chairman, Umar Illiya Damagum, announced their switch to the ADC. The new members, drawn from all 17 local government areas of the state, were officially welcomed during a ceremony in Damagum, where they received ADC membership cards.
Speaking at the event, the leader of the ADC coalition in Yobe, Adamu Waziri, expressed delight at the development while criticizing the current state of governance. He lamented the collapse of several industries in the past year, noting that the situation had worsened economic hardship across the country.
Waziri assured the defectors that the ADC was committed to championing policies that would restore opportunities and improve the welfare of Nigerians.
