MPPUD Orientates New Senior Officers On Public Service Ethics - The Alternative News

 




The Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has organised a two-day orientation training at Oke-Mosan, for its newly recruited Senior Officers towards strengthening their institutional capacity which will improve their service delivery to the public.

      The Commissioner in the Ministry, TPL Olatunji Odunlami, while speaking on the theme of the programme, :Understanding Public Service Ethics for Improved Service Delivery,' stated that the training was essential to prepare  new officers on the clear understanding of their roles, not leaving out the broader perspective of the civil service.

He noted that the training aligned with the present administration's reform agenda to boost public sector efficiency, thus, introducing officers to best practices and ongoing developments in the state.

In her keynote address, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, emphasized the need to uphold ethical standards, prevent corruption and ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of the public.

          Also speaking, her counterpart in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Sakirudeen Salaam urged participants to key into whatever they could take home from the training as their conduct and professionalism hereafter would go a long way to determine the quality of their delivery which in the long run would determine the measure of governance in the State.

One of the participants, Mrs. Oladayo Bankole expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity, pledging to be good ambassadors for the State.
