SUBEB Boss Thumbs Up TFN For Its Contributions To Educational Growth - The Alternative News

Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, has described Teach For Nigeria (TFN) as a reliable partner in progress notable for its transformative contributions to basic education in the State.

Evangelist Ifede gave the commendation at the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Teach For Nigeria Pre-Service Training Institute during which 502 Fellows and 92 school leaders were inducted

Represented by the Director of Academic and School Services, Mrs. Kehinde Anifowoshe, Ifede noted that the partnership between Ogun SUBEB and TFN had continued to yield far-reaching positive impacts on public primary education since its inception in 2017.

“The partnership between Ogun SUBEB and Teach for Nigeria has brought profound transformation to the state’s education sector and stands as a beacon of hope,” he said.

Highlighting the Be-the-Change projects initiated by TFN fellows, Ifede explained that the initiatives have brought meaningful improvement to schools and communities across the State. He added that the projects have inspired a new generation of leaders and change-makers, while also promoting innovation, leadership, and creativity within the education system.

The SUBEB boss appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unwavering commitment to education, disclosing that the governor facilitated the placement of 200 Fellows in public primary schools across Ogun State and approved a 50 percent monthly salary support package for them.

He urged the inducted Fellows to approach their host schools and communities with dedication, resilience and a positive mindset that would translate into meaningful contributions.

In his goodwill message, the Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB, Professor Olusola Babatunde charged the Fellows to uphold professionalism and resilience throughout their service years, emphasising that their responsibilities go beyond classroom teaching, and that their influence could extend to shaping communities, mentoring learners, and instilling sustainable development values in society.

In her remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Teach for Nigeria, Mrs. Molade Adeniyi, encouraged the inductees to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their various schools and communities, stressing that their impact could lay the foundation for long-lasting change in the education sector
