Our Doors Are Open For Collaboration On Educational Development - Ogsg - The Alternative News




The Ogun State Government will always welcome collaborations and support from well meanings Nigerians, organisations and general stakeholders in its stride to provide qualitative education to the citizenry.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu stated this in his remark during  the handing-over ceremony of the renovated two stories of twenty classrooms, staff rooms and morden toilet facilities, as well as donation of 120 furniture to Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School (SACHS), Osiele, Odeda Local Government Area of the State undertaken by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.




Arigbabu commended the church for the gesture, describing it as a notable contribution to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration's commitment in the provision of conducive teaching and learning environment and a shining example of how private and faith-based organisations could also partner with government in uplifting the educational sector.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, the Commissioner urged other religious organisations to emulate the good deed, adding that this would go a long way to achieve the desirable and brighter future for the unborn generations.




"Let me emphasise that this renovated facilities must be seen not only as a gift but as a responsibility. The school authority, staff and learners should take ownership by ensuring proper use and maintenance," Arigbabu said.




Speaking, the General Authority Seventy who double as First Counsellor African West Area of the church, Elder Adeyinka Ojediran, commended the State government on its laudable initiatives which had transformed the education sector. He revealed that the projects were accomplished through consistent donations of Church members across the globe.



In his appreciation, the Principal of the school, (Junior), Mr. Akeem Lambe, said the renovated classrooms would enhance learning experience for the students, provide comfortable and inspiring space to grow, assuring that the school would ensure that the facilities are well maintained.
