Senator Musa Yar’adua Denies Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC - The Alternative News

Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, who represents Katsina Central in the National Assembly, has firmly denied rumours circulating about his alleged plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued Sunday night, Senator Yar’adua described the reports as unfounded and a product of “media mischief,” urging the public to disregard such speculation.

“I wish to categorically reaffirm my unwavering commitment and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the statement read.

Yar’adua, a retired military officer and younger brother to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, emphasized that he remains fully aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the goals of the ruling party.

He also clarified that individuals bearing the Yar’Adua surname should not be automatically linked to his political choices or affiliations.

“It’s essential to clarify that not all individuals sharing the Yar’Adua surname imply a political association with me,” he noted.

The senator’s response comes after a wave of online reports and social media speculation alleged that he was planning to join the ADC amid perceived tensions within the APC in Katsina State.

With the denial now made public, Senator Yar’adua has called on the media to act responsibly and verify political claims before publication.
