Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has been released by the police after spending 48 hours in detention.
Sowore regained his freedom around 8 p.m. on Friday, hours after accusing the police of denying him medical attention for a broken hand while in custody.
Speaking during a Facebook Live session to announce his release, Sowore said:
“Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is me here. I have just been released by the police. You know we told them they can’t sustain this, but them no dey hear word. I have just been released from detention after 48 hours by the illegal IGP and his people.”
DAILY POST reports that Sowore was arrested on Wednesday after honouring a police invitation.
