200 Teach For Nigeria Fellows Receive Engagement Letters - The Alternative News

The Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, has presented letters of engagement to 200 Teach for Nigeria (TFN) fellows who are set to be deployed to public primary schools across the state.

Presenting the letters to the fellows at the Board’s Secretariat in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ifede charged them to approach their assignments with forthrightness and dedication, stressing that their core responsibility is to impart knowledge and make lasting impacts on pupils, co-teachers, and their host communities.

“Wherever you are posted, whether rural, semi-rural, or urban, take it as a task to train, teach and to impact. Not only on the pupils, but also on your co-teachers and the wider community. I know you have been well-trained, and I have no doubt that you are good to go,” he said.

Ifede disclosed that the fellows have been deployed to 100 of the State’s 1,567 public primary schools, with two fellows assigned per school. He added that the number of TFN fellows in Ogun State doubled from 100 to 200 due to the remarkable performance of the previous unit.

“It was 100 fellows before, because of your performance, it has been increased to 200 annually. The more you perform, the more our education-friendly Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will approve additional fellows,” he noted.

The SUBEB boss further urged the fellows to justify their training by teaching with excellence and upholding the values of the programme.

Responding on behalf of the fellows, Mr. Oluwatobi Yekini expressed appreciation to the Board and the State Government for the opportunity, assuring that they would carry out their duties with diligence.
