The Craddle Steam Education Trust Family, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has donated more than 100 school bags, textbooks, notebooks, and other writing materials to five primary schools in Ogun State.
The presentation, tagged “Craddle Primary Education Scholarship Award,” took place at the Simeon Adebo Library, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Speaking at the event, the Convener, Miss Aanuoluwa Bajela, said the initiative was designed to complement the Ogun State Government’s free education policy by supporting pupils whose parents are unable to adequately provide for their learning needs.
She cited the story of a young girl who lost both parents in an accident while in Primary 5, noting that the NGO intervened to support her education. According to Bajela, the girl is now in JSS1 under close monitoring by the Craddle team.
“When government provides free education, Craddle NGO provides the stationeries, bags, notebooks, and textbooks. Seeing more children complete their basic education brings us joy and fulfilment,” she said.
The Headteacher of All Saints Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Kobiti, Mrs. Temitope Jebiri, praised the donation as timely and encouraging for the pupils. She also called on other NGOs and stakeholders to emulate the initiative, noting that government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility
One of the beneficiaries, Master Joseph Ajani, expressed gratitude to the organization, saying the school bag, textbooks, and writing materials would be of great help in pursuing his studies.
Other beneficiary schools included NUD Primary School, Community Model School, and UAMC Primary School.
